Stromanthe Triostar - 6" Pot
Botanical Name: Stromanthe
Common Name(s): Triostar, Magenta Triostar
Stromanthe is a strikingly beautiful houseplant that never fails to catch the eye. It has an exotic look with its dark green leaves that are delightfully variegated with streaks of pink and cream. The backsides of the leaves are a lovely shade of pinkish-purple. Like all Calathea plants, the leaves adjust as the sun rotates throughout the day, closing its leaves at night and reopening them in the morning to receive the best Eastern facing sunlight. Calathea Plants, native to tropical South and Central America, Africa, and the West Indies, are grown primarily for their beautiful, brightly colored, upright, oval leaves.
NATIVE LAND: South America
WATER: Water about once a week (or more often if environment is very warm) to keep soil moist but not soggy. Mist between waterings to provide humidity
LIGHT: Bright indirect light. Direct sunlight will burn and damage the leaves.
ISSUES:
yellowing pale leaves - overwatered/ soil drenched
yellowing/brown crispy leaf edges - underwatered
withering/browning leaves - air is too dry
BENEFITS: Natural Air purification and an impressive show of natural adaptation when the leaves rise at night and open in the following morning again
PET/KID FRIENDLY: Nontoxic to humans and pets
